Baba Ramdev's Patanjali urban sales fall; rural slows down: Report

After years of superior-growth, Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurved witnessed slowdown in fiscal-year 2019, as competition wised-up to the opportunity in the natural products markets. According to an Economic Times report, sales of Patanjali fell 2.7% in urban-areas during the year ending March 2019, while rural sales-growth moderated to 15.7% a-far-cry from the 21.1% and 45.2% growth, respectively, that it clocked in the year before.
Patanjali gets control of Ruchi Soya for Rs 4,350 crore

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approved yoga-exponent-Ram Dev-run Patanjali's revised Rs.4,350-crore bid to take over the edible oil maker Ruchi Soya, which owed banks over Rs.9,345 crore. However, the tribunal said the approval is subject to the tribunal resolution professional bridging the information gap regarding the exact source of funds worth Rs 600 crore before the next date of hearing on August 1.
Patanjali denies receiving notice from USFDA

Baba Ramdev promoted Patanjali Ayurved said Tuesday it is in "complete compliance of prevailing laws of respective countries", reacting to media reports that said the USFDA has claimed Patanjali has separate production and packaging areas for exported and domestic products. "Patanjali Ayurved follows full compliance for packaging and labelling of its products as per ayurvedic norms in India and US specifications," the company said.
