Army Major General Dismissed Without Pension For Sexual Harassment

A Major General serving in Assam Rifles in the north east has been dismissed without pension over a case of sexual harassment involving another serving officer. The court martial proceedings against Major General RS Jaswal were confirmed by Army chief General Bipin Rawat today, even though the orders were signed by the Army chief in July itself.
CPI announces assured pension of Rs 9k per month

The CPI Friday announced that it would give a minimum pension of Rs 9,000 per month, grant full statehood to Delhi and Puducherry and a one-time comprehensive loan waiver for farmers as part of its manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls. The Communist Party of India (CPI) also proposed a law for agricultural workers and a separate budget for agriculture.
Govt approves pension option for over 42,000 employees of PSU insurers

In a big bonanza to over 42,000 employees of public sector insurance companies, the government on March 2 decided to give one more pension option as retirement benefit to these left over officers and staff who missed the opportunity in the past. This benefit is applicable to those who have joined any of Public Sector Insurance Companies (PSICs) on or before June 28, 1995.
