Pepsico collects, recycles its entire used PET bottles in Maharashtra

Food and beverage major PepsiCo India has achieved 100 percent PET collection and recycling in Maharashtra the second region after Delhi. Under the extended producer responsibility (EPR) programe, Pepsico India collected 6,500 metric tonne of post consumer PET. The collected PET is 100 percent recycled ensuring zero percent landfill, the company said in a statement Monday.
PepsiCo takes back all cases against Gujarat farmers

PepsiCo India "unconditionally" withdrew all its cases against potato farmers of Gujarat for alleged infringement of rights over a particular variety of the tuber. The farmers involved said they have sought a token Rs.1 compensation from the Indian-arm of the US food and beverages giant PepsiCo for defamation and for being falsely dragged into a case alleging illegal use of a registered potato variety.

PepsiCo Inc said it will withdraw its lawsuits against a number of potato farmers accused of infringing its patent. After suing four farmers for cultivating the FC5 potato variety, grown exclusively for PepsiCo's popular Lay's potato chips, the snack food and drinks maker said last-week it wanted to "amicably settle" the issue. The FC5 potato variety is grown exclusively for PepsiCo's popular Lay's potato-chips.
