Trump admin urged to ask India to reduce duty on US apples

Asserting that India's move to increase tariffs on the US apples has hit the farmers hard, a top American lawmaker has urged the Trump administration to ask New-Delhi to reduce the duty for the country's apple growers. India has raised tariffs on 28 items, including almond, pulses and walnut, exported from the US in retaliation to America's withdrawal of preferential access for Indian products.
Chopper scam: Delhi court sends Ratul Puri to judicial custody till Oct 1

A Delhi court sent Ratul Puri, nephew of Madhya-Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, to judicial custody till October-1 in a money-laundering-case related to the AgustaWestland-chopper-scam. Special-judge Arvind Kumar also allowed Puri to take medicines long with him to jail subject to the opinion of the jail doctor. The court also asked the lock-up in-charge to ensure-security and safety of Puri while taking him to Tihar-jail.
NHAI identifies projects worth Rs 30,000 cr to be offered on PPP mode

The NHAI is set to offer around 950-kilometres of road stretches worth Rs.30,000-crores on BOT, and has invited pre-qualification bids to gauge investors' sentiments at a time when the government is working to revive PPP in the sector. In BOT projects, private sector developers build a road using their own funds, operate it and then transfer it to the government after a specified period.
