
Trump approval rating bounces back from government shutdown lows

President Donald Trump's approval rating has mounted a decisive comeback from its descent last month during the record-long 35-day partial government shutdown. Trump's approval numbers hit a low of under 40 percent on Jan. 25, the final day of the shutdown, a loss of almost 3 points from before the closure, according to an average calculated by the website FiveThirtyEight.

President Emmanuel Macron has ratcheted-up warnings about rising threat of far-right nationalism, saying in an interview with regional French-newspaper that complacency was what allowed for rise of Hitler and Mussolini. Speaking to Le Courrier Picard, a newspaper that covers northern France, where Macron has been visiting World-War One memorials president was challenged over comparisons he has made between current events and 1930s in Europe.

TRS poll manifesto draws opposition fire in Telangana

Opposition parties in Telangana severely criticised TRS over promises in the election manifesto for the Assembly elections, accusing it of even “copying” their assurances and recycling its 2014 version. Seeking to steal a march over other political parties, TRS was first of the blocks to release its manifesto, promising farm loan-waiver of up to Rs.1-lakh, unemployment allowance of Rs.3,016/month and doubling “Aasara” pension amounts.
