I got Rs 77 lakh from PFI as Hadiya case fee: Sibal

Congress' Kapil Sibal said the payments he received from the Popular Front of India (PFI) had nothing to do with anti-CAA protests. Sibal added that the payment was made for his legal services offered in the Hadiya case. In a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs, ED alleged that PFI was sponsoring anti-CAA protests across the country.
Sachin Bansal resigns from Ujjivan Small Finance Bank's board

Sachin Bansal has resigned from the board of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd citing that an entity owned and controlled by him has applied for a universal banking licence, according to a regulatory filing. Chaitanya India Fin Credit, a microlender in which the Flipkart co-founder has a majority stake, had earlier this month said it has applied to the RBI for universal bank licence.
Government directs banks to address pending disciplinary cases

The government directed all banks to set-up committees of senior officials to monitor the progress of pending disciplinary and internal vigilance cases and set timelines for completion of such cases to prevent damaging morale of staff, according to a release by the finance ministry. The government has also delegated powers to the boards of PSBs to set mechanisms to ensure compliance with fraud-reporting timelines.
