Muslims "Bigger Patriots" For Staying Back During Partition: Azam Khan On Citizenship Amendment Bil

Samajwadi-Party MP Azam Khan has said that Muslims are 'bigger-patriots' as they had a choice either to go to Pakistan during the Partition in 1947 or stay-back in India and they chose to stay-back. Speaking-to-reporters hours after the Citizenship(Amendment) Bill which will grant-citizenship to non-Muslim-refugees who came in from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, on or before December-2014, was passed, Mr Khan said in Rampur.

A paramedic who flew to help victims of the New Zealand volcanic eruption said on Tuesday what he saw was a "shocking experience", likening the scene on White Island to the recent TV drama mini-series "Chernobyl". "Everything was just blanketed in ash. It was quite an overwhelming feeling," Russell Clark told Television New Zealand (TVNZ) network.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi criticised the government led by PM Modi over the Citizenship(Amendment) Bill as a move that would "destroy the foundation" of India. His criticism comes after his party's new ally in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena, backed the government on passing the bill in the LS in "national interest". The CAB, short for Citizenship(Amendment) Bill, will be presented in the Rajya Sabha tomorrow.
