
Man convicted for rape of three daughters in Pune

A Pune court has sentenced a 45-year-old man to life imprisonment for raping his three daughters, one of whom was a minor at the time. It sentenced the girls' mother to seven years' imprisonment for abetting the crime. When the girls had complained of the abuse to their mother, she told them he was under the influence of black magic.

Revenue Offer Arrested In Pune Allegedly Asked For 1 Crore Bribe

A revenue officer in Pune district was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau officials when he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. one crore. Sachin Dongare (43), the accused, sought the bribe to facilitate registration of new names in land records, an official said. The complainant in the case wanted to register his heir's name in the records of his ancestral properties.

Pune joins the PBL bandwagon; season 4 to have nine franchises

Pune was on Friday named as the new franchise of the Premier Badminton League, making the event a nine-team affair from this season. In its endeavour to make PBL a much bigger affair, the Badminton Association of India (BAI) has introduced the new team for the fourth edition of the league.
