Only a quarter of Rajasthan's households live in urban areas and farmers constitute a strong and influential block of voters in the state. More than half (53%) of all households in Rajasthan own agricultural land.

Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2018: The process of filing nomination papers by the candidates for the December 7 Rajasthan assembly election will also begin on Monday. The last date for filing the nominations will be November 19. The scrutiny of the nominations will be done on November 20 and the last day for withdrawal of the nominations will be November 22.
Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2018: Congress first list likely today

The Congress's screening committee on Sunday completed its deliberations on probable candidates for the December 7 assembly elections, identifying and shortlisting names for at least 130 seats. Leaders who attended the meeting said this list will now be looked at by the party's central election committee (CEC), led by party president Rahul Gandhi, at a meeting on Monday.
