SC order on Ayodhya should bring peace: Muslim litigant

Iqbal Ansari, son of Hashim Ansari, the main litigant in the Babri Masjid dispute, welcomed the SC move to extend the term of the mediation committee on Ayodhya till August-15 and hoped a final-decision brings peace in the country. "The matter is related to Hindus and Muslims and the court decision should be such that brings peace and tranquillity in the country," he added.

VHP working president Alok Kumar retracted his statement that organisation might back the Congress if party includes construction of Ram Temple in their election manifesto. Earlier, Kumar had said, "Congress ghoshna patra mein shaamil karein ke mandir banayenge to uske baare mein bhi vichaar karenge [If Congress includes the construction of Ram Mandir in its election manifesto, we might think about backing the party]."
