Probe Agency Seeks Cancellation Of Ratul Puri's Bail In VVIP Chopper Case

The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday approached the Delhi High Court seeking cancellation of bail granted to businessman Ratul Puri in a money laundering case connected to the AgustaWestland helicopter deal. Special CBI judge Arvind Kumar had granted bail to Ratul Puri and directed him to furnish a bail bond of Rs 5 lakh and two sureties of like amount.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's nephew Ratul Puri led a "lavish" lifestyle using a credit card issued by a Dubai-based hawala operator, an accused in the VVIP chopper scam, to travel in private jets and visit night clubs, the Enforcement Directorate has said in its charge-sheet in a Rs. 8,000 crore bank loan money laundering case.
Ratul Puri's Judicial Custody Extended Till October 3 In Bank Fraud Case

A Delhi court extended the judicial custody of Ratul Puri, nephew of Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, till October 3 in a money laundering case related to a bank loan fraud. Special judge Sanjay Garg passed the order after Puri was produced before it and Enforcement Directorate said that if released, he may tamper with the evidence. ED had arrested Puri on August 20.
