HDIL homebuyers send SOS to PM Narendra Modi

A group of aggrieved homebuyers of the scam-hit realty developer HDIL have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention to resolve their distress. The Whispering Towers Flat Owners Welfare Association, representing over 450 homebuyers of the HDIL project in suburban Mulund, have in a letter dated September 1, to Modi said they are seeking his intervention as a last resort.

Rs 27cr released for Sultanpur Lodhi smart city project

The Centre has released Rs.27.11-crore as the first-installment for the Sultanpur Lodhi Smart City project in Kapurthala district of Punjab, the state government said on September-28. The estimated cost of the project, under the Smart Cities Mission, is Rs.271.11-crore, to be equally distributed between Union and state government. It is to be released in three instalments of 20:40:40, the official statement said.

Rs.1.56L cr worth flats launched in 2011 and before still incomplete

Nearly 2.2 lakh housing units, worth Rs.1.56 lakh crore, launched in 2011 and before across seven major cities are yet to be completed by real estate developers, according to property consultant JLL India. According to JLL data, the real estate companies of Delhi-NCR are the biggest defaulters as their contribution in delayed housing units accounts for 71% in volume and 56% in value terms.
