"Had we not acted quickly to contain the fires and undertake restoration efforts, the impact on the oil market and global economy would've been far more devastating," he added. Aramco is shipping equipment from the US and Europe to rebuild the damaged facilities.

The US signed a deal with El Salvador to help the Central American nation give refuge to more asylum seekers. Individuals arriving at the US-Mexico border through El Salvador should be able to seek protection there even if they intend to apply for asylum in the US, US' Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan said.
