Rural India achieved 100% ODF status: Govt

The sanitation coverage under Swachh Bharat Mission(Grameen) is 100% and all the 5,99,963 villages have declared themselves ODF, the government said. The Centre launched SBM(G) on October 2, 2014, with the aim to attain Open Defecation Free (ODF) India by October 2, 2019. As per the data, 10.14 crore individual household toilets have been constructed under the programme as on November 28.

Combining community health with womens empowerment, small water enterprises are making giant leaps in addressing the potable water needs of more than a million people in India's villages at a minimal cost. General health has improved in my village in Warangal. Everybody in the village now calls me Water Aunty fondly, Cherra Padmaja told PTI over the phone.
93% Households In Rural India Have Access To Toilets: Survey

Over 93% households in rural India have access to toilets and of these households, 96.5% uses them, a survey commissioned by the government has found. The NARSS 2018-19, conducted by an independent verification agency under the supervision of the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, also re-confirmed the ODF status of 90.7% villages which were declared so by various districts and states.
