Sachin Bansal resigns from Ujjivan Small Finance Bank's board

Sachin Bansal has resigned from the board of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd citing that an entity owned and controlled by him has applied for a universal banking licence, according to a regulatory filing. Chaitanya India Fin Credit, a microlender in which the Flipkart co-founder has a majority stake, had earlier this month said it has applied to the RBI for universal bank licence.
Sachin Bansal buys DHFL General Insurance

Flipkart co founder Sachin Bansal has acquired DHFL General Insurance from WGC for around Rs.100-crore, people in the know of the deal said. The transaction is seen as a distress sale for WGC, which used to run bankrupt home financier Dewan Housing Finance, one of the persons said. Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal's bet on the insurance-firm is part of his broader ambition in financial-services-industry.
Sachin Bansal invests Rs.200 crore in Piramal Enterprises' debt

Flipkart Co-founder Sachin Bansal has invested Rs.200 crore in debt papers issued by Piramal Enterprises, via non-convertible debentures (NCDs) route, a source reported. The NCD, issued at an interest coupon of around 9.5% and a repayment period of two years, would be used in Piramal's financial services business, the report said. Piramal Group is also reportedly in fundraising talks with SoftBank.
