BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur failed to appear before a court in Mumbai Thursday for the second-time this week in connection with Malegaon blast case. Her lawyer told the court that she is suffering from high blood pressure and is unable to travel from Bhopal to Mumbai. The court granted her exemption for the day and asked her to appear before it on Friday.

Mumbai Police have arrested a 38-year-old homoeopathic doctor for allegedly posting derogatory content on BJP's Bhopal candidate Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur on a social media platform. The doctor, identified as Sunil Kumar Nishad, was arrested on May 15, police said. A resident of Vikhroli West, Nishad was arrested for posting objectionable posts against Thakur and Brahmans, the FIR registered in the matter mentioned.

BJP leader Pragya Singh Thakur, an accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case dubbed the application seeking to bar her from contesting the Lok Sabha election as "frivolous" and moved with a "political agenda", and sought its dismissal by the special NIA court in Mumbai. Pragya Thakur responded to the plea on Tuesday through her lawyer before special judge for NIA cases VS Padalkar.
