Japan satellite blasts into space to deliver artificial meteors

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency has launched Tokyo-based startup Star-ALE's mini-satellite aimed to deliver the world's first artificial meteor shower. The satellite carries 400 tiny balls, which the startup says will be enough for 20-30 events, that will glow as they rush down the atmosphere on being released. ALE plans to deliver its first show in Hiroshima in early 2020.

ISRO announces programs to groom new generation of scientists

In a major move aimed to groom young scientists and boost Space research and development in the country, ISRO announced plans that it will undertake in 2019 to achieve the same. Briefing the media ISRO Chairman Kailasavadivoo Sivan, said that the space agency will launch a bunch of programs aimed to inculcate among young students scientific knowledge and to train them in building satellites.

ISRO to Launch Kalamsat, Microsat on PSLV-C44 on January 24

The ISRO will launch an imaging satellite Microsat-R along with a student payload 'Kalamsat' from its spaceport in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, on January 24, it announced. "The 46th flight of PSLV-C44 will launch Microsat-R and Kalamsat from the first launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota on January 24," the state-run space agency said in a statement on its website.
