Chinmayanand sexual abuse case: SC lawyers fear another Unnao

A group of Supreme Court lawyers has filed a petition to the Chief Justice of India to take suo motu cognizance of media reports of a missing law student in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur. The girl went missing after she accused BJP leader Chinmayanand of sexual-harassment. In their petition, the Supreme Court lawyers said they did not want a repeat of the Unnao rape case.

A Catholic priest was convicted of sexually abusing two-girls at District of Columbia-church after an-emotional-trial during which prosecutors said he used his position of trust to victimize the young parishioners. Urbano Vazquez, 47, showed no emotion as the jury-foreman read the guilty verdicts in D.C. Superior-Court. The jurors found that Vazquez groped 13-year-old girl in 2015 and kissed and groped 9-year-old girl in 2016.
