Nothing yet, says new Delhi Congress chief Sheila Dikshit on AAP alliance

Three-time Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who was pushed out of city politics following her party's humiliating defeat over four years ago, took over as Delhi Congress chief on Wednesday. In her first comments before taking charge, the 80-year-old politician said the party will strategise to meet the challenges ahead. "There is nothing on alliance with AAP yet," she added.

Speculations over an alliance between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party and Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections intensified on Thursday, with Sheila Dikshit being appointed as new president of the grand old party's Delhi unit. Sheila Dikshit, however, refused to comment on the alliance issue. Earlier, she had said she will accept the Congress high command's decision on a tie-up with the AAP.
