Senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Sunday said dynasty politics was rejected in the last general-elections, but the Congress did not learn from it and still wants Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi to lead the party. Mr Chauhan said the BJP has set an example as its leaders grow in the party naturally, while the Congress is unable to move beyond a family.

Former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan attacked Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan for his sexist remark against BJP MP Rama Devi in the LS, alleging he derives "pleasure" after making "absurd" comments against women. Speaking to reporters in Gorakhpur, Shivraj Singh Chouhan also criticized SP president Akhilesh Yadav for trying to defend Azam Khan and said, "There is no future of Samajwadi Party."

Buoyed by BJP's impressive gains in Telangana in the recent LS-elections, former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the party's next-target was to capture power in the state in 2023 assembly-polls. Describing the good performance in West-Bengal and Telangana as "very-significant", he said BJP was not satisfied with it and was aiming at forming governments in states where it was not in power.
