Snapchat sees 40% growth in India daily active users, sets up office in Mumbai

Photo-messaging app Snapchat on August-12 said its DAU in India has jumped 40% year-on-year in the June quarter, and the company is setting-up its first-office in the country to support business-growth. Speaking to PTI, Snap Chief Strategy Officer Jared Grusd said the firm's local-team in India will focus on expanding strategic partnerships, building an engaged community of creators and users as-well-as servicing local advertisers.

Snapchat to launch gaming platform next month: Report

Parent of Snapchat messaging app Snap plans to announce its gaming platform for developers next month, online news service Cheddar reported. Shares of the company rose nearly 3 percent in trading before the bell. The platform, codenamed "Project Cognac," will feature a handful of games from outside developers designed to work specifically in the Snapchat app, according to the report.

Snap hits all-time low after lackluster earnings report

Snap stock shed more than 12 percent to an all-time low in extended trading Thursday after warning investors it will continue to lose daily active users. The company posted a narrower-than-expected loss for the third quarter, as the company offsets declining user counts with higher revenue per user. But wasn't able to quell concerns about its shrinking user base.
