Irish regulator investigates Facebook over private photo glitch

An Irish regulator said on Friday it was investigating Facebook Inc (FB.O) following the company's disclosure that a bug may have exposed private photos of up to 6.8 million users, the latest in a series of Facebook privacy glitches.Facebook said in a statement that it was in close contact with the Irish regulator and happy to answer any questions.

Reset the "days since the last Facebook privacy scandal" counter, as Facebook has just revealed a Photo API bug gave app developers too much access to photos of up to 5.6 million users. The bug allowed apps users had approved to pull their timeline photos to also receive their Facebook Stories, Marketplace photos, and most worryingly, photos they'd uploaded to Facebook but never shared.

Vietnam seeks arrest of activist over Facebook posts

Police in Vietnam have issued an-arrest-warrant for an activist accused of trying to overthrow state by posting pro-democracy materials on Facebook. Nguyen Van Trang, a member of banned group Brotherhood for Democracy, posted articles, photos and videos on his Facebook account that distorted the policies of Communist Party and state, and incited people to protest, the Ministry of Public Security said on its website.
