Captains won't be suspended for slow over-rates anymore: ICC

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given the green-signal to the recommendation of ICC's Cricket Committee that captains in international cricket should not be suspended for slow over-rates. Instead the ICC will now deduct "competition points" and fine the whole team in a bid to reduce the instances of slow over-rates. These new regulations will come into play with the upcoming World Test championship.

BCCI to use limited DRS in Ranji Trophy knockouts

The BCCI will be using 'limited DRS' during the Ranji Trophy knockout matches from this season to avoid howlers. This restricted version of DRS will not be comprising of Hawk-Eye and UltraEdge. Both these tools are considered key elements of the system in international cricket. During the last-season's Ranji semi-final between Karnataka and Saurashtra, Cheteshwar Pujara got reprieved twice and that eventually cost Karnataka.

The issue has been a bone of contention for quite some time now and another matter surrounding it has come to the fore. The CoAs decision has left both the BCCI and Chief Justice Lodha surprised.
