Rohingya massacre: Myanmar grants soldiers early release

Myanmar granted early release to seven soldiers jailed for the killing of 10 Rohingya Muslim men during a 2017 military crackdown in the Rakhine State. The soldiers were freed in November last year, meaning they served less than one year of their 10-year prison terms for the killings. "Their punishment was reduced by the military," officials said.
HP avalanche: Another soldier's body recovered, three still missing

The body of one Army jawan, who was among the five soldiers missing for the past 13 days after an avalanche in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district, was recovered on Monday, an official said. Rifleman Govind Bahadur Chhetri and five other jawans of the 7 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles were buried under the avalanche at Shipki La near the Sino-India border on February 20.
Russia moves to mask its soldiers' digital trail with smartphone ban

The lower house of the Russian Parliament has voted to ban soldiers from using smartphones on duty. This comes after a series of open-source investigations revealed Russia's secret military activities, by following the online activities of soldiers. Soldiers will also be banned from posting any photos, videos and information about themselves, other soldiers and their relatives on the Internet.
