Lenders fail to reach consensus over emergency refuelling of Jet Airways

Some lenders to Jet Airways have demanded more pledged shares of founder Naresh Goyal and planes owned by the airline as collateral for advancing further loans, even as the banks' consortium remains sharply divided on additional debt assistance to Jet. The latest condition was communicated to Jet's management in a meeting on Monday evening. A meeting in the morning was inconclusive.
Bank stocks in demand, UCO Bank surges over 12%

Bank stocks were in demand Tuesday after the government infused Rs.10,882Cr in four public sector lenders, with UCO Bank surging over 12%. Shares of UCO Bank soared 12.10% to close at Rs.22.70 apiece on BSE. Bank of Maharashtra gained 3.83%, Central Bank of India went up by 1.36% and Syndicate Bank rose by 1.27%.
