The BJP state core committee meeting is likely to 'expel' those who are found guilty of working against the party's interests in any manner, a top-party-leader said in Mumbai. Former-minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said that the meeting also decided to speak with the leaders like Eknath Khadse and Pankaja Munde who are both sulking for various reasons since the past few-weeks, making the BJP jittery.

Intention to discriminate against Muslims and violation of Article 14 of the Constitution are the two major criticisms that the Narendra Modi government faces over the Citizenship Amendment Bill that aims to recognise non-Muslim migrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan who are treated as illegal immigrants under the existing laws. Intention of discrimination is a subjective perception.

Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju is hoping for a best-ever medal haul from the country's athletes in the Tokyo Olympics but warned that the blame would lie with all the stakeholders if India fails to put up a good show in the 2028 Games. Rijiju said eight years should be enough for India to prepare its best for the Los Angeles Olympics.
