Government collects Rs 1,00,289 crore GST in May

For the third month in a row, government has managed to collect over Rs.1 lakh Goods and Services Tax. India's gross GST revenues in month of May, 2019 stood at Rs.1,00,289 crore, the finance ministry said today. The gross collection in May is, however, lower than Rs.1,13,865 crore collected in April, when it hit an all-time high. GST collections in March was Rs.1,06,577 crore.

FY19 direct tax collections fall short by Rs 50k crore

Direct tax collections have fallen short by Rs.50,000-crore thereby failing to meet the revised target of Rs.12L-crore for 2018-19 fiscal on account of poor personal income tax collections. "We will get close to most likely the earlier target of Rs.11.5L-crore for 2018-19 as calculations are at the final-stage not beyond that... We will not meet upward revised target of Rs.12L-crore," an official source said.

Government collects highest ever GST in March at Rs 1.06 lakh crore

The government collected highest ever GST for the month of March crossing the Rs One lakh crore mark. The government mopped up Rs 1,06,577 crore of which CGST is Rs 20,353 crore, SGST is Rs 27,520 crore, IGST is Rs 50,418 crore (including Rs 23,521 crore collected on imports) and Cess is Rs 8,286 crore (including Rs 891 crore collected on imports).
