Smriti Irani accompanies Ekta for a 14 km barefoot walk to Temple

Producer Ekta Kapoor has shared a story on Instagram with Smriti Irani during their journey to Mumbai's Siddhivinayak Temple and revealed that Irani walked 14 kilometres without shoes to the temple. "I can't believe 14 kilometres without shoes," says Ekta after which Irani replies, "That's how God willed it." This comes after Irani's victory in Amethi in Lok Sabha elections.

Before the Lok Sabha elections 2019 results are declared, leaders from across the political spectrum visited temples and offered prayers across the country in the morning today. Former Mizoram Governor and Thiruvananthapuram BJP candidate Kummanam Rajasekharan offered prayers at Ayya Guru Ashram in Thycaud, Kerala. He said he is "very much confident" of taking over the parliamentary constituency from sitting Congress MP Shashi Tharoor.

Aradhana Misra, Congress MLA from Rampur Khas in Pratapgarh, said unemployment, farm-crisis, law and order and poverty were major-issues that country wasfacing and party had put them on its agenda for LS-election. Reacting to accusation that Congress leaders were resorting to soft Hindutva by visiting temples, she said, "I don't think anyone needs a passport from BJP to visit a temple in this country."
