Tendulkar, Imran, Warne lead in mourning death of Abdul Qadir

Batting great Sachin Tendulkar led the Indian cricket fraternity's tribute for Pakistan spin legend Abdul Qadir, who died in Lahore after suffering a cardiac arrest. Qadir, who would have turned 64 on September 15, passed away on September 6 before he could be brought to a hospital. Ace India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also took to twitter to express his grief at Qadir's demise.
Chris Gayle left out from West Indies' squad for two-Test series

West Indies selectors resisted the temptation to grant Chris Gayle a sentimental final Test appearance on home ground when the charismatic opener was omitted from the squad to face India in a two-match series. Gayle has made 7,214 runs in Test cricket with a highest score of 333 but his career in recent years has been confined to white-ball cricket and franchise T20 leagues.

Cape Town Proteas star batsman Hashim Amla called time on one of the great international careers of the modern era when he announced his retirement from all formats of international cricket. He will continue to be available for domestic cricket as-well-as the Mzansi Super League. During a brief spell as captain he led the Proteas to a rare Test series win in Sri Lanka.
