Now, pay fine if you spend more than 3 hours at Taj Mahal

Visitors who spend more than three hours at the Taj Mahal will now be charged an additional fee, as a circular implementing the three-hour limit has come into force. In order to prevent unauthorized entry, turnstile gates have been introduced at the iconic monument. Tourists are dismayed by the new rules, asserting that it would cost heavily on tourism.

Goa looks for course correction as foreign tourists on decline

In the wake of almost 10% slide in arrival of international tourists in Goa during the ongoing season, the Goa government is undertaking various measures that include marketing the tourism potential of the coastal state aggressively at various forums. Tourism Minister Manohar Ajogankar Monday said the state government was hopeful that the trend will be reversed in the upcoming tourist season beginning post-monsoon.

China warns its citizens against traveling to Sri Lanka after bombings

China's embassy in Sri Lanka warned Chinese nationals against traveling to Sri Lanka in near term, after bomb-blasts ripped through churches and luxury-hotels across the island-nation on Easter Sunday. If Chinese-nationals insist on traveling to Sri Lanka, it would be difficult for embassy to provide effective assistance in view of the "huge security risks" involved, Chinese embassy said in a statement on its website.
