
Govt may consider approval of Rs 5,500-cr FAME-II scheme this month

The Union Cabinet is likely to consider approval of the second-phase of FAME India scheme this month to boost clean mobility, with an outlay of Rs.5,500-crore spanning five years, officials said. The scheme in its second-phase will offer a bouquet of incentives, such as exemption from paying road tax, registration fee and parking charges for various categories of electric and strong hybrid vehicles.

Day after break down, Vande Bharat Express begins first commercial run

India's fastest train Vande Bharat Express (Train 18) began its first commercial run on Sunday, a day after it suffered a brake failure. "Tickets sold out for the next two weeks already," Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted, sharing a video of the train. Railways Ministry on Saturday clarified that the train broke down due to a "possible cattle run over".

Delhi Govt announces threefold hike in margin money for ration dealers

The Delhi government has announced nearly three-fold increase in the margin money for ration dealers in the national capital from March for distribution of food items through manual mode. Following this, ration dealers will get Rs 2 per kg as margin money in place of the existing 70 paisa per kg from March, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Imran Hussain said.
