Union Cabinet approves 50 new Kendriya Vidyalayas, focus on LWE areas

The Union Cabinet on Thursday approved 50 new Kendriya Vidyalayas with a focus on areas that are hotbeds of left-wing extremism and where there is a high concentration of Central Reserve Police Force or railway employees. Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said nearly one lakh students will benefit from the decision and it will create employment opportunities also.
Cabinet Approves Three New Delhi Metro Corridors

The Centre gave an "in-principle" approval to three of six new Delhi Metro corridors under Phase-IV of the network. The lines will have 17-underground and 29 elevated-stations with 25-stations between Janakpuri and RK Ashram, 15 between Aerocity and Tughlakabad and six between Maujpur and Mukundpur. The other three-lines which are yet to receive Union Cabinet's approval are Rithala-Bawana, Inderlok-Indraprastha and Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block.
Cabinet approves 10 per cent reservation for general category for poor in J&K

The Centre on Thursday approved an order for giving reservation benefits to economically weaker sections and for promotion in government jobs to SCs and STs in Jammu and Kashmir. The cabinet "approved the proposal of J&K Government regarding amendment to the Constitution (Application to J&K) Order, 1954 by way of the Constitution (Application to J&K) Amendment Order, 2019," according to an official release.
