Male troops won't accept women commanders: Government to SC

The Centre has told the Supreme Court that women may not be suitable for command posts in the Army as male troops are not yet prepared to accept women officers. It also cited greater family demands and the danger of them being taken prisoner of war to oppose the plea of a few women officers for command posting after getting a permanent commission.

In a fresh development in the controversy surrounding the Andhra Pradesh government's move to allot capital status to three cities, the Centre said that it won't intervene in the issue as it is the prerogative of the state governments to decide on their capital cities. The remark was made by Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai in the Lok Sabha.
No new ration card scheme, says govt

Taking note of a fake letter attributed to his ministry claiming that Centre was engaging private vendors to prepare new ration cards under One Nation One Ration Card scheme, Ram Vilas Paswan said that an FIR is being lodged. "No new ration cards are being under the One Nation One Ration Card scheme. The existing card will be accepted across the country," he tweeted.
