Breaking odd-even rule will cost you Rs 20,000 under new MV Act

People violating the odd-even rule in Delhi between November 4 and 15 could be fined up to Rs.20,000 under the amended Motor Vehicles Act, traffic police and government officials said. Earlier, defaulters were fined Rs.2,000. However, the final decision on the fine is yet to be announced and the government has the authority to reduce the amount.
Punjab traffic policeman fills up potholes on roads

Punjab traffic police personnel Gurbkhs Singh has received a reward of Rs.1,000 and been recommended for a promotion for filling up potholes on the roads of Bathinda. Gurbkhs stated, "I feel happy doing so. I will continue this work post-retirement also." DSP City Gurjit Singh Romana stated, "Best jawans are...posted in traffic... They have to concentrate more on social work."
CBI asks West Bengal DGP for Rajeev Kumar's contact details

The Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI has asked the West Bengal Director General of Police (DGP) to provide the contact details of former Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar, sources said today. A letter in this regard was sent to the top cop of West Bengal, seeking Rajeev Kumar's phone number on which he could be contacted, sources told news agency PTI.
