Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya, former owner of Royal Challengers Bangalore, was on Sunday greeted with 'Chor Hai' chants by the crowd as he left The Oval stadium following India's World Cup match against Australia. When asked about how he would respond to the chants, the 63-year-old said, "I am just making sure my mother does not get hurt."

Nirav extradition case, India's paperwork under focus in London court

The quality of paperwork provided by India in Nirav Modi extradition-case will be under focus during a-case-management hearing in the Westminster Magistrates Court on Thursday, days after he was denied bail by same court. Modi was denied bail on third-occasion during the last-hearing, when the judge sought the papers to be 'perfectly paginated'. He remains in custody in the Wandsworth jail in west London.

UK court sets July 2 for Mallya plea's oral hearing

Controversial businessman Vijay Mallya's application to appeal against his extradition to India has been scheduled for an oral hearing in appeals court on July-2, CPS said. Mallya's written application for the permission was refused on April 5, prompting him to seek an oral hearing to appeal against home secretary Sajid Javid's February 4 order extraditing him to India to face charges of financial irregularities.
