After her barrage of criticism in Parliament against Rahul Gandhi over his reported "rape in India" remark, Union Minister Smriti Irani lashed out at the Congress leader outside the House too, saying it was "disgusting" that he was attempting to score political points over rape. The BJPs' women MPs slammed Gandhi for the remarks he reportedly made in Jharkhand's Godda district on Thursday.

Bank loan fraud: ED attaches Rs 20-crore assets of Rajasthan firm

Assets valued at over Rs 20 crore of a Rajasthan-based company and its promoters have been attached by the ED under the anti-money laundering law in connection with an alleged bank loan fraud case probe, the agency said on Friday. The case pertains to the company identified as Emgee Cables and Communications and its directors Shripal Choudhari, Anuradha Choudhari, Abhinav Choudhari, and others.

Plastic industry demands restructuring of customs duty

The All India Plastics Manufacturers Association (Aipma), representing 22,000 industrial units, has demanded immediate steps from the government to restructure custom duties and anti-dumping duty on import of cheap finished products. Apart from these demands, the sectoral body also wants a review of foreign trade agreements, enforcement of mandatory BIS standards and technology up-gradation fund for the industry, among others.
