Battered by competition, Intex plans to make products for Chinese firms

This may be a classic case of 'if you can't beat them, join them'. Bowing down to the Chinese-handset-brands which has almost wiped away the domestic mobile-phone-industry, the second largest home-grown-maker Intex-Technologies is now planning to contract manufacture for the Chinese to make a turnaround. Intex-sales has been declining year-on-year after touching a peak of Rs.6,233-crore in FY16 due to the entry of Chinese-brands.

Fake Xiaomi products worth Rs.13 lakh seized in Delhi

The Delhi Police has seized over 2,000 fake Xiaomi products worth Rs.13 lakh from Karol Bagh's Gaffar Market in raids that were recently conducted after the Chinese smartphone maker filed a complaint. The police have also arrested four suppliers. The seized counterfeits include power banks, earphones, wireless headsets, travel adaptor, and several smartphone accessories yet to be launched in India.

Xiaomi reports record sales in offline trade

Chinese-smartphone major Xiaomi India may continue its scorching pace of growth in the crucial October-December quarter with the brand reporting high growth even in brick-and-mortar stores on back of record sales it posted in e-commerce. As-per-a-latest-communication sent by Xiaomi India's director Sunil Baby to offline-trade, the companys overall offline-business grew by 70% during this year festive season as compared to same period last year.
