Suicide Attempts Have Doubled In Teens And Young Adults: Study

In a recent study, researchers have claimed that suicide rate attempts by self-poisoning among teens and young adults have doubled. "The severity of outcomes in adolescents has also increased, especially in 10- to 15-year-olds. In youth overall, from 2010-2018 there was a 141% increase in attempts by self-poisoning reported to U.S. poison centres, which is concerning," said the source.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu called upon the youth to strive to build a new India which is "free of fear, corruption, hunger, discrimination, illiteracy, poverty, caste barriers and urban-rural divide." Student arrested for raising pro-Pakistan slogan

The Uttar Pradesh police on Tuesday arrested a first-year student of the IFTM University in Moradabad for allegedly raising pro-Pakistan slogans after a gathering was organised to pay tribute to the CRPF personnel martyred in the Pulwama attack. The accused, Mohammad Abaaz, was suspended by the university. Meanwhile, the police registered a case against him.
