A case was registered against five State Bank of India officials, by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in the West Godavari district, for allowing private companies to withdraw over INR 2.49 crores in a single day, post demonetization. CBI said that public servants also withdrew amounts beyond the prescribed limits, from their own accounts in the branch. This is against RBI guidelines.
