Dhasai Village In Maharashtra Goes Cashless

Dhasai village in Thane district of Maharashtra, has become an example of a rural area going cashless. Demonetization has forced the Dhasai village to go cashless. Dhasai village has not gone completely cashless. Shopkeepers still accept cash, but villagers have realized the benefits of going cashless. Bank of Baroda has given 50 EDC machines (card swipe machines) free of cost to shops.
