Dual MRPs on packed items: Maharashtra, Karnataka top the list

You may be shelling out more for a bottled potable water. But, charging more beyond maximum retail prices (MRPs) for the same packaged product is illegal, according to Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011. Maharashtra along with Karnataka have been the foremost states to have booked the highest number of cases for dual pricing of a packaged commodity in violation of these rules.
