The commercial vehicle (CV) industry is left with an unsold inventory of almost 35,000-45,000 BS-III vehicles after the Supreme Court (SC) ordered a ban on sales of BS-III vehicles two days before the actual implementation of new emission norms. The unsold inventory is expected to be worth upto Rs 5,800 crore. Exports remain to be the lowest cost solution for the CV OEMs as per ICRA.
