At least 10 species in the Ganga face extinction: Ministry reports

At least 10 species, including the Ganges river dolphin and the gharial, found in Ganga for centuries, are on the verge of extinction, according to the new report released by the ministry of water resources. While the dolphin is listed as an endangered species according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List, the Gharial is critically endangered in the same list.

Patanjali sweetens bid for Ruchi Soya

Patanjali Ayurveda has raised its bid to acquire Ruchi Soya and had made the revised offer to the Committee of Creditors (CoC) for the debt-ridden company, sources said. The latest bid is around 30% higher than that of the Adani group, which is also in the race to acquire the company with its offer of around Rs 3,300 crore, the sources said.

NGT slaps Rs 25,000 fine on Delhi govt for not filing report

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has slapped Rs 25,000 as costs on the Delhi government for failure to file a report on the action taken to prevent blockage of drains in the city. A bench headed by acting NGT Chairperson Justice Jawad Rahim directed the AAP government to file its response within 10 days and deposit the fine within a week.
