FPI inflows hit $6 billion in March on hopes of more reforms

Foreign investors have pumped in about $6 billion in capital markets so far this month, buoyed by expectations that BJP's victory in assembly polls is precursor to more "bold, reformist policies" in India. Foreign portfolio investors infused net sum of Rs.22,268 crore in equities during March 1-24 and another Rs.16,177 crore in debt segment, translating into a combined inflow of Rs.38,445 crore ($5.84 billion).
