Government Will Waive Service Tax On Card Transactions

The Government wants to promote digital transactions after the withdrawal of old 500 and 1000 rupee notes. The Government will waive service tax on credit and debit cards transactions up to INR 2000 crores. After demonetization, long queues are seen at ATMs and banks, as citizens withdraw new currency. The Government wants to promote digital transactions and make India a cashless economy.
