
Helicopter in Kobe Bryant Crash Wasn't Legal to Fly in Poor Visibility

The charter company whose helicopter crashed and killed Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and seven others wasn't certified to fly in conditions requiring pilots to fly using only cockpit instruments, reports said. Island Express Helicopters, which owned Sikorsky S-76B, was only certified to operate under visual flight rules meaning pilots must be able to clearly see outside in daylight, reports added.
