Insurers may soon need an actuary's permission to sell new products

Insurance companies may soon need to take permission from a panel of actuaries, before they sell new products in the market. This will be in addition to an initial round of screening of the policies which is undertaken by the insurance regulator. IRDAI said that life and general insurance companies will have separate teams of actuaries.
