After a recent global launch in the United Kingdom, Royal Enfield is all set to launch the new Classic 500 Pegasus in India on May 30, at an expected price of about Rs 2 lakh. Internationally, Royal Enfield will sell only 1,000 units of its Classic 500's limited-edition model out of which 250 units will make their way into the Indian market.

Free WiFi for 8 more railway stations in Kerala

Railwire, an initiative of Railtel which is the telecommunication wing of Indian Railways, is set to provide free WiFi facility in eight more railway stations in the state apart from the five stations where it is already available. Ernakulam South (Ernakulam Junction), Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kozhikode, Thrissur and Kollam Junction are the stations where the free WiFi facility is already available.

Reports had said a whistleblower has written to market regulator Sebi complaining against Infosys and raised questions around the company signing agreements for the mutual release of claims with three of its former three directors, including ex-Chairman R Seshasayee.

Angel investors in start-ups get income tax exemption

The tax department today exempted angel investors from income tax on their investments in start-ups with effect from April 11. The tax concessions are subject to certain conditions laid down by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion last month, which said that the share capital and share premium of the start-up should not exceed Rs.10 crore after such investments.

UN official expresses concern over Tuticorin deaths

Petrol prices rise for the 13th straight day; almost Rs 78 in Delhi

Domestic petrol prices increased for the 13th day in a row on Saturday, with the fuel being sold at Rs 77.97 per litre in the national capital. The price rose to Rs 77.97 in Delhi from Rs 77.83 a litre on Friday, data from the Indian Oil Corp website showed.

Another Nipah virus death in Kozhikode, toll now 13

Even as the incidence of fresh cases of Nipah virus has come down, a woman, under treatment at the Kozhikode Medical College hospital, passed away on Saturday, taking the disease toll in Kerala to 13, officials said. A majority of the deaths have been reported from Kozhikode, while the others are in the nearby Malappuram district.
