The Karnataka transport department has given Uber and Ola three days time to withdraw their ride-sharing services in the state after deeming the service illegal. As per transport department, the ride-hailing firms have contract carriage permits, which do not allow them to pick up and drop passengers during a trip. Such permit only allows point-to-point pick-ups and drops.
