SBI , India’s largest lender, will soon be charging customers who don’t maintain monthly account average balance of Rs 5000 in their savings bank accounts, from April 1. These charges will be based on the difference between the minimum balance required and the shortfall. The bank said it is resuming the charge to partly cover costs for maintaining systems and operations of savings accounts.
